Marshall is going to be my outside kid I think.  He loves being outside and has been begging to play in the snow.  Except that this winter there hasn’t been a lot of snow.  That is fine by me!  But after Sunday’s couple of inches, Marshall was all too ready to help shovel and have fun out in the snow.

WHAT A BLAST!!!!!!!!  The SD Children’s Museum in Brookings, SD was such a fun place to go with the boys.  My parents live near Brookings so we ventured over there on afternoon.  I went to elementary school in Brookings.  I went to Hillcrest so I didn’t go into Central very often but it was neat to see the school all transformed into a wonderful museum.  Here are the boys with grandma, daddy and Mama Rex!!!  What a big lady she is!

Marshall really liked the car area.  You can see his legs sticking out from under the car.  He didn’t want to use the creeper provided.  I am sure this is a sceen I will see soon enough in our garage!

Peyton had fun pumping the water well. 

So I noticed my millage on my car the other night.  It was an interesting number…and of course it turned over to this number as I was crossing the Discovery bridge.  And we all know how much I like crossing bridges anyway!

Luckily, nothing bad happened on my drive home after it hit that number.

I found this fun article on Yahoo! today.  Did the small screen adaptations of the big movies really work out or not.  I think I agree with all of the best and worst.  What do you think?  here is the link.

I have been one sick lady the last couple of days.  I don’t remember getting sick this often before…but then again I never had 2 little boys at daycare who share all kinds of bugs with mommy!  They are so nice that way.  Hopefully you will be able to hear me.  One of the wonderful sickness I have is no voice!  which maskes for an interesting air shift…so here is to tea with honey, garggling with warm salt water and lots of cough drops!

Eric and I made a bet on the Bears/Vikings game again!  I won the last time we bet and over the new year weekend I won again.  Here is the sign I made for Eric that I hung on his desk for 2 days before he had to stand outside the station with it so all the people driving by could see him too.

then we headed outside where all could see his sign.  He thought he could get away with just staying by the parking lot.  Nope I made him move by the road

He had a few people honk at him.  He was suppose to stand out there for a half hour…but I only made him stand out there for 10 minutes or so.

Now you are going to have to take my word for it, but I did make it to midnight on New Year’s Eve.  In fact,  it was almost 12:30AM when I took this picture!  I was pretty proud of myself.  We tend to be in bed and asleep by 10:30…11PM at the latest around my house!

With the New Year here now, I will let you know about my New Year’s Resolutions.  I decided to keep 2 of last years resolutions.  They were easy enough to do. 

The first was to water my house plants at least once a week.  (You’d be surprised as to how hard this really is!)

The second was to send my family and friends birthday cards before their birthday.  I did fairly well on both of those last year. 

I am going to try a third one this year.  I have a BIG drawer of recipe books.  Here it is:

And as you can see…it is plum full.  My resolution is to keep it organized and actually use recipes out of all those books!  It seems like we get in a food rut each week but I am going to try to make new recipes this year.

I am also going to try organize all the recipes I find on the net and print off.  I am going to try to get a bigger recipe box and get them all organized.  After all I have an entire year to do this right?!?!?  Here’s to your resolutions in 2012 as well!

All Marshall asked Santa for this year was blue M&M’s.  Santa managed to find only blue M&M’s and a blue M&M dispensor!!!  He is lucky boy!
